About the Position: The US Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) is the Army's materiel readiness command for aviation, missile and calibration that optimizes joint warfighter capabilities at the point of need. Duties

Advise Supervisor regarding personnel actions and interpretation of personnel regulations concerning matters such as performance appraisals, leave, promotion, incentive award, etc. Submit travel orders and vouchers using an automated system such as the Defense Travel System (DTS) for processing and disbursement. Input time and attendance into an automated system such as the Automated Time, Attendance and Production System (ATAPPS). Establish and maintain office files in accordance with operating procedures and regulations (i.e., Army Records Information Management System - ARIMS).

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires a Secret Security Clearance.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up 20% of the time.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes receiving visitors, routing phone calls to appropriate points of contact; reviewing all incoming and outgoing correspondence for accurate content, reviewing travel authorizations and vouchers for accuracy in an automated travel system; using office automation applications, databases, and software packages to produce reports, spreadsheets, graphics, and electronic communications; reviewing time and attendance for the office for supervisors signature. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Self ManagementTechnical CompetenceWriting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
