About the Position: The Behavioral Health Service line is located with the Presidio of Monterey Army Health Clinic. Patients are seen for treatment in a private office space. The clinic also offers a larger space for provision of group therapy. Providers can expect to interact with patients, military leadership, and clinical colleagues routinely to ensure needs of the patient are met. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Serve as a social worker providing individual and group clinical counseling services. Assist clients to identify and manage personal, psychological, and interactive problems, associated with occupational and personal adjustment. Develop individualized treatment plans based on psychiatric diagnosis. Provide individual and group clinical counseling services using various evidenced based modalities. Collect bio-psycho-social information about patients using interview, case history, and observation techniques, and assessment methods. Evaluate results of counseling methods to determine the effectiveness of treatment used. Provide case management services to effectively manage patients enrolled in behavioral intensive outpatient behavioral programs and prevent crises. Exercise nonjudgmental disposition representative of a culture of a care when engaging with patients, members of the clinical team, and/or outside agencies. Provide concise documentation of care and recommendations.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• Will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross.
• Required to be screened for applicable immunizations.
• May be required to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an “on call” basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
• Employees assigned to this position may be designated as Mission Essential and assume Essential Personnel status during inclement/weather/emergencies.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for Social Worker (Clinical):Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: One year of specialized experience which includes: conducting bio-psychosocial evaluations, providing individual or group clinical counseling, and developing treatment plans and/or recommendations for behavioral health patients. Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction. Providers work Monday through Friday (no weekends or holidays) from 0700-1600 within an outpatient clinical setting.
