About the Position: This position is for the Administrative Support Assistant, GS-0303-05/06/07 with US Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, Operations Division, Capital Regional Office. This position is located in Georgetown, TX. This position can be filled at the GS-05, or at the GS-06, or at the GS-07 full performance grade level. Promotion to the full performance grade level is at the discretion of management.

Duties

Responsible for the procurement of equipment, materials, supplies and services necessary to support the organization activities. Assist the Branch Chief in personnel management activities by seeking and disseminating information from the CPAC, advising employees of requirements and application of regulations and personnel action procedures. Maintain the preparation of reports to include documents to loan, transfer or dispose of accountable property. Complete personnel management activities such as timekeeping, training, travel, property accountability, correspondence and reporting, record keeping and files management. Compose correspondence or finalizes drafts of reports, correspondence and other data assuring proper format, spelling, grammar and arrangement of material. Monitor obligations and expenditures throughout the budget period. Establish CEFMS accounts and request and monitors funding for all financial activities for the organization.

OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-5 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment. FOR GS-6: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Assisting with an office budget; OR 2) Utilizing automated office software to prepare documents, correspondence OR spreadsheets; OR 3) Performing administrative support duties for an office such as timekeeping and coordinating travel arrangements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). FOR GS-7: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing at least two out of the following three areas: 1) Maintaining a budget for an office; OR 2) Performing administrative support duties such as timekeeping, travel arrangements, or personnel actions; OR 3) Composing correspondence and/or reports using automated systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
