This position is located at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center, in Poplar Bluff, MO. The position is responsible for time and attendance functions at the Medical Center, ensuring all employees are paid timely and accurately.
Duties
***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION***
Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:
Reviews time and attendance reports for a diversified assigned time and leave units.
Provides customer service in person or by telephone, and completes correspondence (e.g., answers written inquiries, prepares letters to obtain missing information, etc.) related to employee pay.
Reviews all disbursement and collection vouchers involving civilian pay funds.
Computes and corrects any irregularities and/or provides specific guidance for corrective actions when returning action to input source.
Develops procedures and instructions for payroll operations.
Conducts extensive research to identify and resolve problems.
Provides timekeeper trainings through one-on-one training sessions and group training.
Prepares written correspondence and other documentation.
Audits pay and leave accounts to identify and correct errors.
Audits timekeepers on a semi-annual basis as mandated.
Perform other duties as required.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped them with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-5 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: reviewing time and attendance actions; inputting leave and pay adjustment information; ensuring that time and attendance is correct and pay is correct; reviewing all disbursement and collection vouchers; providing customer service in person or by telephone; resolving problems; and providing timekeeper training.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
