You will serve as a Health Technician (Audiology/Hearing Conservation Program) U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine & Surgery (BUMED) in the of NMRTU MCRD SAN DIEGO CA.
Duties
You will Accesses vital patient health history data and reviews health issues impacting hearing sensitivity
or audiological test results
You will determines
program enrollment status, makes pivotal patient care decisions.
You will determines types of tests and medical procedures to administer to include: baseline, pre/post deployment,
pre-employment, separation, periodic physical exams.
You will prepares patients for audiometric assessments, reviews
test procedure processes, and delivers clear, concise test procedure instructions.
You will conducts
individual and multi-person pure tone hearing tests in audiometric chamber using specialized
microprocessor audiometer hardware.
You will take Inventories and tracks medical equipment and
supplies, and coordinates purchase procurements.
You will conduct daily medical equipment
function checks and biologic calibration tests and procedures.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Specialized Experience. Examples of Qualifying Experience:
Experience managing a HCP clinic/office maintaining equipment and software, as well as providing administrative program management assistance.
Experience using audio equipment for audiometric testing, recording and interpreting results.
Experience utilizing medical coding guidelines and skills to apply medical codes to individual patient diagnoses and procedures.
Experience utilizing DOEHRS-HC software application, DR database or other DOD approved hearing conservation testing software.
Experience reviewing and analyzing hearing conservation data, records, reports, and electronic audit trails; to verify data accuracy; and to identify and rectify errors.

OR
