The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Inventory Management Specialist within the Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division across multiple branches, programs, activities, and diverse mission disciplines.

Duties
Determines current and future supply requirements.
Determines distribution and positioning of equipment and/or key material among major supply stations, stock points, or COMSEC accounts
Prepares recommendations and directives for the procurement of material.
Monitors planned or scheduled material requirements and funds availability.
Performs inventory control, equipment accountability and management.
Participates in systems training and problems associated with supply systems.
Requirements

- All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

Qualifications
This is a GG-11 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-11 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GG-11 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories of inventory management, and the standard practices, methods, and techniques of the occupation sufficient to perform difficult, but well-precedented assignments. NOTE: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position OR LL.M., if related. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

COMBINATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of supply concepts, principals, and practices to include use of automated systems and/or equipment; of DoD, NSA, AFMC, AFLCMC, Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division logistics procedures and policies; and of acquisition processes, automated records, logistics systems, and the storage, issue, and disposal processes.
2. Knowledge of specialized analytical methods and techniques to resolve difficult inventory management issues and problems; and budgeting, procurement, and funding processes related to inventory management functions. Ability to apply inventory management laws, regulations, policies, procedures, techniques, principles, and methods to plan on inventory requirements and accountability. Ability to plan, organize, and reprioritize work to meet changing deadlines and develop timely and economical solutions.
3. Skill in interpret, adapt, and apply inventory management guidelines as it pertains to assigned specialized and functions; and to independently analyze and resolve difficult inventory management issues and problems, and to consider and apply several alternatives.
4. Skill in providing technical advice in terms of oral and written briefings, reports, and provides training opportunities as well as makes recommendations to senior leadership; and in carrying out assignments, operations, and procedures in the occupation that are significantly more difficult and complex.
5. Ability to apply in-depth knowledge of inventory management to interpret policy direction for specific operating requirements, or to develop guidance for applying inventory management policies, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations involving various degrees or levels of control.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
