This position is located at the Bureau of Fiscal Service , Deputy Commissioner Transformation & Modernization, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Office. The EEO office provides the leadership and direction in carrying out equal employment opportunity and civil rights responsibilities for Fiscal Service.

Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. Serve as the initial contact in the EEO Office for Reasonable Accommodation Requests from Fiscal Service employees located in all Fiscal Service locations. Assist the appropriate management official and the DEPM in the identification of barriers that may impede the selection and/or advancement of employees in the workforce with a special emphasis on barriers affecting disabled employees. Analyze and identify problems, determines cause and effect relationships, formulates conclusions, and determines appropriate solutions, choosing from several courses of action depending on facts and issues involved and the objectives. Assist, develop, and issue guidance on preparation of Reasonable Accommodations. Research, analyze, and/or interpret Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and appropriate Federal directives, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé. Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as the following: - Experience recommending updates to disability, hardship, or Reasonable Accommodation procedures or processes; AND -Experience using policies, statutes, regulations or guidelines to provide technical guidance addressing Reasonable Accommodations; AND -Experience gathering information to prepare a variety of narrative and statistical reports, such as the Management Directive 715 (MD-715), which outline the reasonable accommodation process. Specialized Experience: For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as the following: -Experience using guidelines and procedures to direct employees through the Reasonable Accommodation process; AND -Experience processing Reasonable Accommodation requests while ensuring compliance. OR You may qualify with a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, OR LL.M., if related, in an accredited college or university. OR You may qualify on a combination of education and experience listed above in which my percentage of specialized experience and education totals to 100%. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks. For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-9 level for 52 weeks.
