This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing within the PLATE PRINTING DIVISION DCF. As an Intermediate Plate Printer, you will perform work utilizing a variety of complex and usually high-speed large format Intaglio Plate Printing presses and requiring a wide range of complex tasks associated with Intaglio printing, including printing U.S. government securities and currency from intaglio plates or cylinders.

Duties

***The BEP is currently in the process of having a new facility built in Beltsville, MD and expect to move to the new facility within the next 5 years. If selected, you may be sent and/or reassigned to the new Beltsville facility. By applying to this position, you understand this potential requirement. The following are the duties of this position (Plate Printer) at the WG-03. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As an Intermediate Plate Printer, you will: Make press ready to print in accordance with established Bureau of the Engraving and Printing (BEP) procedures. Install and position plates and/or chablons, secure and check materials needed such as paper, inks, rigging boards, wiper rollers, etc. Lubricate press as necessary, load press, make all adjustments of peripheral devices and attachments. Observe production of the press and make all single and multiple operating adjustments.
