About the Position: Crane Army Ammunition Activity (CAAA) mission statement: To receive, store, ship, produce, renovate and demilitarize conventional ammunition, missiles and related components to meet contingency requirements in support of the warfighter. This is a full-time, permanent. Student Loan Repayment, may be authorized.

Duties

Ensure and perform periodic inspections, evaluations, and surveys of facilities, equipment, and operations. Identity deficiencies in the program and variances to the standard using a comprehensive knowledge of regulations, standards, procedures, methods, and techniques to determine compliance with explosives safety regulations. Review complex explosives safety plans/programs and develop and issue instructions and procedures establishing technical and administrative explosives safety requirements. Conduct risk assessment of hazardous processes/conditions identified and determine applicable methods and procedures for controlling or eliminating hazards.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. 922), authorizing you to carry/possess a firearm and/or ammunition.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License/Installation driving privileges.

Qualifications

This position is under the Acquisition Demonstration Project. The NH-03 broadband incorporates former GS equivalents GS-12 step 1 through GS-13 step 10 grade levels and salary levels.
