You will serve as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) in the Re-entry Systems Office; Strategic and Computing Systems Department of NAVSURFWARCENDLD.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project.
NT-05 is equivalent to GS-13/14.
This position is salary capped GS-13 Step 10 (currently $145,617). See "Additional Information" section.
Duties
You will apply expertise in Information Technology and information systems knowledge to accomplish work such as supporting the Re-entry Systems Simulator network analysis tools and critical infrastructure analysis.
You will apply advanced concepts and skills in Information Technology, specifically Information Assurance, to contribute to the conception, implementation, and maintenance of secure computing environments.
You will adapt software applications to meet mission specific needs and ensure programs maintain a security posture as directed by Information Assurance guidelines.
You will apply advanced cybersecurity functions (e.g.: encryption, access control, identity management) to reduce exploitations opportunities.
You will analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan the development of a new application or modification of an existing application.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for framework role 722, level Advanced within 12 months of appointment.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing Information Technology (IT) work to oversee, coordinate, or evaluate IT security policies, procedures, or measures to ensure they are correctly applied to IT systems or networks. Examples of qualifying experience may include: analyzing, assessing, and documenting cyber security/information assurance capabilities and services; verifying compliance with cyber security/information assurance requirements; identifying vulnerabilities of information technology systems; ensuring networks are certified and accredited for information security.
