This position is assigned to the Assistant Medical Director, Connected Care, at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, The incumbent is the Secretary to the Chief of Connected Care, who is a member of the Office to the Assistant Medical Center Director, and serves as the primary office support person providing administrative and personal assistance to the department staff, especially management.
Duties
Major Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Data Collection {30%}
Prepares charts, graphs, and narrative information for management reports;
Utilizes automated systems to generate various reports, create statistical diagrams, organization and workflow charts, and other graphics. Analyzes and synthesizes data from diverse sources in a variety of formats;
General Administrative {70%}
Serves as primary timekeeper for department staff and provide general administrative support to the office staff and activities as needed
Performs a variety of activities using office automation software including but are not limited to:
Preparation of presentations requiring coordinating inputs from multiple sources and software packages;
Forms creation;
Calendar scheduling;
Correspondence preparation;
Electronic mail;
Action tracking systems;
Internet searches;
Spreadsheets to organize data, and;
Office management programs.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/27/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, GS-5, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Resolves problems associated with the administration of the department;
Assists in the dissemination of work associated with the function of the office;
Prepares reports for dissemination, briefing and publication;
Designs and develops tools for data gathering, reporting, and program development, drafts responses, and prepares reports.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary in nature. Manual dexterity is required in operation of a personal computer. The work sometimes requires walking, standing, bending, lifting, or carrying light items such as paper and books.
