This position is part of the Department of Energy, Office of International Affairs, Office of Resource Management. As a Security Specialist, you will provide advisory services on security-related program requirements for the office, and will receive analytical work assignments involving: physical security, personnel security, information resource management, foreign national visits and assignments, which includes Foreign Access Central Tracking System (FACTS) and other programmatic assignments.

As a Security Specialist, you will:
Requirements

- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- This position does not support 100% remote work. You will be required to report physically to the official reporting worksite as specified by the supervisor, but no less than 2 days per pay period.
- At the GS-14 grade level, you are required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of entering the position and annually.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing thereafter. Failure to test or a positive result on random drug tests conducted after appointment may result in removal from Federal employment.
- This position has been designated as Special Sensitive and requires a security clearance at the "Q" level. The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain this clearance; failure to do so may result in separation from federal service.
Qualifications
GS-13 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following:
Assisting with the accreditation and access for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities.
Assisting with access control for foreign national visits and assignments.
Utilizing the Foreign Access Central Tracking System (FACTS) to document access of international visitor/foreign nationals.
Assisting with the implementation of security policies pertaining to a physical security program.
GS-14 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following:
Providing advisory services on classified information security programs.
Coordinating the access for foreign national visits and assignments.
Utilizing the Foreign Access Central Tracking System (FACTS) to document access of international visitor/foreign nationals.
Processing security clearances for accreditation and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities.
The OPM Group Qualification Standard for this Position is: Administrative and Management Positions. There is no Individual Occupational Requirements for the Security Administration Series 0080.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

CTAP/ICTAP candidates: To be considered "well qualified" you must (1) meet all of the requirements as described in this section; and 2) be rated "well-qualified", which is defined as having a score of 85 or better.

There are no specific education requirements or substitution of education for experience at the GS-13 or GS-14 grade levels for this position.
