This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system. Positions in the Cyber Excepted Service are positions necessary to carry out and support the mission of the United States Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA-JH34.
Duties
Monitors DODIN posture, analyzes trends/patterns, tracks and investigates security events and incidents for IT and OT/cyber-physical systems, supports defensive actions while preserving operational resilience in coordination with DOD components.
Plans DODIN security integration measures and coordinates DCO-IDM solutions implementation with subordinate organizations.
Provides technical support for secure development tasks.
Provides technical assessments addressing cyberspace terrain (IT/OT) readiness associated with established operations and contingency plans.
Applies Cyber Defense guidance and support to DODIN design, architecture, protocols, and technology principles and concepts to maintain/enhance a secure global DODIN environment.
Identifies, assesses, and resolves complex Cyber Defense problems; evaluates and recommends improvements to DODIN-wide posture, processes, and tactics.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in conducting studies and analysis of cyberspace events within traditional and non-traditional terrain, while leading projects and analytical reviews within a cyberspace program.

Education
There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GG-13 grade level.
