The Project Manager serves as the Radiation Specialist for VA Logistics Redesign Program Management Office (VALOR PMO) that serves under the functional authority to the Secretary, the Under Secretary for Health, Deputy Under Secretary for Health (USH), and Assistant Under Secretary for Health (AUSH) for Support Services, for the VALOR Program Management Office (VALOR PMO).

Major duties include:
Serve as an advisor to senior leaders.
Analyze customer feedback to identify safety opportunities and gaps within supply chain operations.
Understanding, developing and estimating budgets for implementing safety and compliance mechanisms within supply chain.
Working with management to develop long-term strategies for ensure continued compliance and safety initiatives are effective for the organization's supply chain operations.
Recommending requirements and costs controls to improve safety protocols within supply chain efficiency without sacrificing quality.
Evaluate prototypes and tests to ensure compliance and meet safety protocols and risks are addressed.
Manage teams of employees who are working on specific projects.
Collaborate with personnel who have oversite of specific phases of supply chain operations.
Facilitate workshops and other events related to supply chain operations.
Create and manage a safety supply chain operations that aligns with business strategies to meet federal regulatory.
Evaluate opportunities and make recommendations on which supply chain operations projects to pursue and evaluate vendor safety and regulatory. compliance and that products meet requirements.
Manage relationships with external partners and service providers.
Monitor project progress and key performance indicator (KPIs), adjusting plans as needed.
Prepare reports and presentations on project findings for senior management.
Mentor team members on safety initiative and regulatory that covers supply chain and logistics operations.
Develop and execute tools and methodologies to enable no harm and safe environment for supply chain and logistic plans.
Design and develop safety standard operating methods to manage aspects of supply chain and logistics operations efficiently.
Ensure accountable, timely and cost-effective release of safety tools and mechanism to meet needs along with personnel.
Coordinate safety supply chain activities related to regulatory that is required for procurement, funding, substantive units activities.
Develop and execute safety policy, processes and methodologies to general benefit VALOR PMO and across VA.
Develop reports on material and personnel movements and various operational logistics problems related to safety and hazardous materials.
Provide guidance of performance and safety initiatives to new and junior supply chain logistics personnel and process good communications skills.
Review polices and regulatory to ensure they meets needs and provide feedback to senior leader.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary in nature. There are no special physical requirements. The work is performed primarily in office areas or conference rooms and similar environments. However, it may require some traveling.

This recruitment is for one position with the VA Logistics Redesign Program Management Office (19 VALOR), located in Washington, DC.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/21/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-14 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-13 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Mastery project management, and radioactive and nuclear safety expertise in meeting supply chain program objectives.
Exceptional experience in performing risk analysis on complex issues and technical subject matters related to nuclear safety supply chains.
Expert research and knowledge of radiative monitoring and nuclear medicine to in advising process improvement activities.
Superior knowledge of Department of Defense and healthcare supply chains to integrate and aligning controls with program goals and objectives.
Exceptional problem-solving skills in the areas of occupational health, healthcare engineering and environmental protection.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
