THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SOCIAL WORKER (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5012000 and is part of the NC G1 SSS, National Guard (G1-Medical / MD 132A-110).
Duties
As a SOCIAL WORKER (TITLE 5), GS-0185-12, you will support the psychological health team in developing and executing an annual BH program strategy. Develops relationships with military and community groups to enhance prevention efforts and expand available BH resources. Coordinates and implements prevention and education programs. Conducts comprehensive needs assessments and Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunity, and Threat (SWOT) analyses that form the basis for program development activities. Creates action plans to: (1) meet the needs of servicemembers and (2) address BH concerns. Conducts clinical screening, evaluation, and consultation services. Builds efficient processes to manage BH referrals and case management services. Conducts population-based behavioral health surveillance to examine trends and further develop targeted prevention and mitigation strategies. Provides consultation, education, and training to military and non¬-military health care professionals concerning behavioral health policy, psychological fitness, and primary and secondary prevention programs.
Requirements

- Must be a fully qualified Mental Health professional IAW AFI 44-119.
- Must possess a current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S Virgin Islands.
- Must be privileged for independent practice by the Credentials Committee at the employing Medical Treatment Facility
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 6 months of onboarding.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
Degree: social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (Master's degree with practicum)
EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION Requirements: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level (or a combination of Education and Experience).
