You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (OS/NETWORK) in the Information Systems Department of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Duties
You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist
You will lead the analysis at the command or activity of systems requirements based upon business requirements, risks and cost.
You will develop new work methods, standard, and practices designed to significantly improve the safety, quality, reliability, predictability, reusability and cost performance of activity wide network operating systems.
You will provide expert knowledge in the configuration and optimization of network servers, firewalls, routers, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and switches.
You will provide advice to computer programmers and users on characteristics of the TRIREFFAC network.
You will participate in the acquisition/installation of hardware and associated data communication and LAN/WAN equipment, including software and other products.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 451 level Intermediate I within 12 months of appointment.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position requires evening and weekend work.
Qualifications
For GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: overseeing the implementation of programming specifications by monitoring program design, coding and debugging performed by contractors.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: determining customer requirements and assisting customers by recognizing and analyzing trends by providing instruction and orientation.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: contacting customers at the Help Desk Level that may include those who are skeptical or uncooperative, skilled in communication to relay instructions and represent the team in meetings within the organization.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: analyzing the types, frequency and solutions necessary to correct problems and improve help desk operational procedures.
In addition to experience demonstrating the four competencies above, Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:
Experience identifying, analyzing and responding to compromising cybersecurity controls.
Experience directing the integration of hardware and software components within the system, overseeing improvements to the performance of the system and providing authoritative guidance in areas such as disaster recovery.
Experience as a System Administrator performing complex networking tasks with Window Server 2012 and higher without supervision.
