As an Electrical Engineer, you will serve as a technical advisor, subject matter specialist by providing technical consulting and quality control plan reviews for all construction projects involving building electrical and electronic systems, equipment, and components. Location of position: Public Buildings Service, Facilities Management & Mountain Plains Service Center Division, Denver-Lakewood, CO.

Duties
Performs review and assessment of design development and complete construction documents, including the resolution of complex design problems, as well as the preparation of documents for agency officials, client agencies, and contract architect-engineering (A/E) firms. Evaluates specifications for new proposals or renovations to electrical and electronic power systems to assess electrical power capabilities in existing and proposed equipment, processes and computer systems.
Performs professional or highly technical studies on electrical engineering systems and equipment, involving lifecycle, cost and/or condition analysis and similar architectural/engineering assessments and from those findings, integrates and quantifies requirements into a scope of work for the professional parameters of the project.
Confers with architects or engineers regarding project electrical requirements, building limitations and space usage to determine the most economical and/or cost-effective solution. Coordinates with others to assure that all technical areas are covered, proper design consideration is given and that the total project objectives, and schedules are met.
Prepares a variety of professional documents as a consultant or technical advisor. Performs detailed analyses of all elements of cost in contractor proposals for electrical circuitry, systems or rewiring work and recommends competitive range determinations to the Contracting Officer.

In addition to the Basic Requirements listed above, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that must demonstrate knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles and practices applicable to the full range of engineering duties concerned with the design and construction of large office buildings; large special purpose structures such as warehouses, parking garages; and other facilities and electrical systems components of a complex nature.
