THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1155000 part of the ND J2, National Guard.

Duties

As an Intelligence Operations Specialist, you will perform specialized duties and to train assigned military unit members in the duties and functions associated with operational intelligence. Provides detailed intelligence analysis for mission planning and execution, training exercises, briefings and debriefings for the state Joint Senior staff, subordinate units and members. In addition, the incumbent performs complex intelligence analysis of economic, geographic, political, military topics and threats that could impact the JFHQ-ST mission success. Assists the Senior Intelligence Officer in assuring the Intelligence function maintains a capability to provide timely and accurate operational intelligence support and fully trained intelligence personnel during peacetime and contingency operations. Performs assigned operational intelligence collection, fusion and analysis, and based on thorough understanding of the significance of conditions and trends, develops and projects data and draws meaningful conclusions and clear estimates based on current and past intelligence situations.

Requirements

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a TS/ SCI security clearance.
  • Required to fly in military or commercial aircraft.
  • May be required to work uncommon tours on short notice.
  • May be required to work on a shift schedule on short notice.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • Must be able to become Intelligence Qualified within 2 years of selection.

Military Grades: Officer(03 and below), Warrant Officer and Enlisted QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Specialized Experience: Applicant must possess at least 36 months of specialized experience, which is defined as: 1) developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations, 2) Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others, 3) Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports. You must also possess the experience, training or education to support your claim for the competency statements listed within the assessment questionnaire.
