This position is assigned to the Caregiver Support Program (CSP) and serves as the Program Support Assistant to the CSP. The primary duties of the Program Support Assistant (PSA) are program development, assist with data collection, analysis of trends, and implementation of best practices.
Duties
DUTIES TO INCLUCE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
Compiles monthly productivity reports for team members
Tracks internal and external suspenses for the program
Serves as the point of contact for the Caregiver Support Program
Works collaboratively with other VA services and departments, i.e.,fiscal and Health administration services.
Works with other cultural backgrounds and understands the need of the customer
Acts independently and take action in a general latitude for decision making process
Provides resources and referrals to Veterans and caregivers, who are seeking caregiver support services, regarding program services, concerns, appeals of decisions and ratings. Obtains as much information as possible, provides information, resolves problems, and makes decisions regarding caller referral based on specific caller needs and location.
Monitors and evaluates caregiver activities (utilization of referrals/resources, trainings, appointments with the Veteran, caregiver strain, etc.), assessments, and enrollment processes and makes recommendations for improvements for the Caregiver Support Programs.
Monitors and reviews tracking information for caregivers and Veterans who utilize community and VA referrals and resources at each facility via database developed, the Caregiver Record Management Application (CARMA) IT system, and/or CPRS.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/05/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Knowledge of office administration and systems development in order to prioritize work assigned, track and direct the flow of referrals, provide information to customers in a timely manner, and organize program information for easy accessibility and retrieval, Knowledge of and ability to perform data validation and understanding of its relation to the operations, work load statistics, planning, and decisions of the Medical Center s and VISN, Ability to interpret and apply guidelines involving program and administrative processes in order to provide complete tasks assigned, process necessary forms, record and analyze data and resolve problems as they arise, Knowledge of the clerical requirements and processes involved in maintaining functional programs

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary and is performed by sitting, standing, bending, and stooping. The employee is required to obtain records from files, and carry files, manuals, and other light objects. Occasional travel is required to provide support at conferences, workgroups, programs or meetings.
