About the Position: Office Assistant Secretary of the Army, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology), Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Procurement) ACE Operations, located in Arlington, VA.
Duties
Provides supply and auditability risk management strategies and policy expertise across the Department of the Army and other DoD components.
Collaborates with Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff G4, Army Major Commands, Army Materiel Command and other Military Departments to establish a unified, joint approach to improving supply management, property accountability, and audit readiness.
Serves as a technical and functional expert in navigating the Global Combat Support System – Army, the Property Book Unit Supply Enhanced-System, the Logistics Modernization Plan, and the Defense Property Accountability System systems and databases.
Serves as the OASA (ALT) focal point for supply management and property accountability policies and procedures providing technical advice and guidance to operating level personnel.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
- Selectees must meet position requirements for Advanced certification in the Acquisition Career Field Life Cycle Logistics within 48 months of entrance on duty.
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Business travel required up to 10% of the time.
Qualifications
Position is a term appointment NTE 2 years. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of six years. Employees hired under the modified term appointment may be eligible for conversion to career-conditional appointments or career appointments.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade NH-03/GS-13 or equivalency which includes: 1) Assists in developing, refining, analyzing, and issuing property accounting policies applicable to the organizational components.; 2) Plans and directs supply and inventory management operations.; AND 3) Provides guidance and direction in carrying out operations as necessary to assure the achievement of progressive improvement and economy in all operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03 or GS-13).
