Position is located with the Professional Recruitment Staff under the Office of Health Programs with the Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS) in St. Michaels, Arizona. The purpose of this position is to recruit and retain NAIHS Health Professionals including Physicians, Pharmacists, Podiatrists, and other health care delivery staff in addition to assisting with the recruitment of Nursing and Dental Division professional staff.
Duties
Develop and execute the Navajo Area wide Recruitment and Retention Program for health professions with an annual budget.
Interview and screen potential candidates for Service Unit health professional positions and refer candidates to appropriate sites for further consideration for employment.
Deliver public presentations at health professional associations, meetings, Medical residency programs, and at other health professional graduate education sites as well as related institutions.
Conduct analysis and planning to meet the Navajo Area's health professional staff recruitment needs and retention issues.
Develop and maintain database/management information system on the health manpower strength of Navajo Area Indian Health Service.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Demonstrate current knowledge and skill of professional health care delivery principles and practices of disciplines being attracted; Applying a wide range of recruitment and retention theories, concepts, practices, laws, rules, and regulations to perform the attraction and retention of qualified health care providers; Knowledge of effective marketing techniques needed to develop marketing brochures, videos, and presentations to appeal to various audiences; Deliver public presentations at health professional associations, meetings, Medical residency programs, etc.; Conduct and provide qualitative and quantitative analysis related to personnel turnover.
Time In Grade - Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
