You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the COMPTROLLER & FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT (N02F) of NAVMUNITIONSCMD CONUS EAST DIVISION.

Duties

You will assist in the formulation of budget and estimates to support plans, programs and activities. You will review and evaluate budget requests, control and reporting of obligations and expenditures. You will perform specialized work involving managerial or administrative work in connection with accounting systems, analytical forecasting and interpretive functions. You will perform work tracking and controlling of funds for special programs. You will research guides to locate accounting, budgetary and financial information. You will develop, determine, and interpret budgetary policies and practices.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications

To qualify for the FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST, GS-0501-09, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience deciphering financial data to forecast, plan and prioritize financial problems. Experience interpreting regulations, policies and standard operating procedures to evaluate financial requests for accuracy and compliance. Experience providing excellent customer service including direct and clear communication, email traffic, phone calls and voicemail monitoring. Experience monitoring accounting, execution, financial management reports and providing cost correction for various items such as contracts and material. Experience solving financial equations and providing creative solutions. To qualify for the FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST, GS-0501-07, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience preparing preliminary budget estimates, financial reviews for programs or program support activities. Experience assisting in the formulation of budget and estimates, reviewing and evaluating budget requests and reporting of obligations and expenditures. Experience researching guides to locate accounting, budgetary and financial information and preparing summaries for use by higher graded analysts. Experience providing excellent customer service including direct and clear communication, email traffic, phone calls and voicemail monitoring. Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
