This position is located in the Middle District of Florida. This position will be filled at one of the below locations listed on this vacancy announcement. Fort Myers, Florida Jacksonville, Florida Orlando, Florida Tampa, Florida The selectee of this position serves as a Financial Specialist. You will be responsible for overseeing the District financial management program.

Duties

As a Financial Specialist at the GS-0501- 11 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Analyzing and managing budget matters to ensure expenditures are in accordance with applicable guidelines. Providing advice to District management on the procurement programs. Identifying and resolving information errors and inconsistencies in financial data. Monitoring, analyzing, and track obligations and expenditures throughout the execution phase of the annual budget. GS-11 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted). You may qualify at the GS-0501-11 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualifications: A. At least one year (12-months) of full-time specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to: 1) Review and monitor individual accounts, vendor files, etc., to ensure appropriate internal controls are in place; 2) Monitor the budget to ensure funds are obligated; 3) Participate in the preparation of the annual budget; and 4) Utilize electronic financial systems for receipt and disbursement of funds. (NOTE: Your resume must clearly demonstrate this experience) OR B. A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or possession of a LL.M. degree, if related. Graduate level education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position, examples of qualifying fields include Accounting, Finance, and Business Administration. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirements for one year of full-time graduate study.
