THIS IS AN AIR FORCE NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a TITLE 32 SUPERVISORY SUPPLY SPECIALIST(MI 127TH WING), Position Description Number D1947000 and is part of the MI 127 Wing, Michigan Air National Guard.
Duties
This position is located in the Air National Guard, Mission Support Group, Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS), Materiel Management Flight. The primary purpose is to direct the performance of the Asset Management Section, Maintenance Support Section, and Customer Support Section to include the management, direction and supervision of assigned employees.
1. Position provides technical and administrative supervision to subordinate personnel directly and through subordinate supervisors.
2. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organizational and Material Management Flight objectives.
3. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other flights, supported organizations, and higher headquarters.
4. Plans and directs all Asset Management Section, Maintenance Support Section, and Customer Support Section functions to provide all logistical support required by the wing and supported organizations.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Michigan Air National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E6 - E7
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Minimum time required: 30 Months
1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment. Experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts. Experience performing various aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to segments in one or more major areas of supply management. Experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc.
Consistent with the grade level determining duties in the position description, higher grade level specialized experience may include experience controlling supply stocks and accounting for equipment, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal procedures. Completing complex supply transactions; and/or providing supply operations support. Experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues. Experience analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques, etc. Knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system. Experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions.
Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
