Duties
This position is located within Mobile Assets Branch/Garage, Asset and Logistics Management Division, under the Mission and Readiness Support Directorate located in Glynco, Georgia. Serving as an Automotive Worker makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing brake systems, driveline, engines, electrical systems, and the ability to comprehend manufacturers service publications for police pursuit vehicles, light duty gas or diesel pickup trucks, ATV/UTV and battery-operated golf carts. - You must be able to meet job-related medical and/or fitness standards. You will be subject to an initial and annual physical examination that measures your visual, hearing, and physical acuity.

- Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license to conduct official government business.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Universal United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification for handling of refrigerants within 180 days of employment.

While there is no minimum amount of training or experience required, the applicant must have had experience, military or civilian, paid or unpaid, of sufficient scope and quality to perform the duties of an Automotive Worker, WG-5823-08. The applicant must have experience performing such duties as diagnosing and repairing brake systems, drivelines, engines, electrical systems, and the ability to comprehend manufacturers service publications for police pursuit vehicles, light duty gas/diesel pickup trucks, ATV/UTV and battery-operated golf carts.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps and AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
