The incumbent of this position will serve as a Boiler Plan Operator at the Loch Raven Campus and monitored day to day operations of several boilers in multiple locations throughout a multi- building location. The incumbent will organizationally report directly to the Loch Raven Facilities & Engineering Service Maintenance Supervisor.
Duties
Major Duties May Include:
Incumbent operates and performs operator maintenance and repair on boilers and auxiliary equipment.
Incumbent must visually inspect each boiler on campus every 4 hours, document results and report back to supervisor of any known deficiencies. Maintains valves and pipelines and infrastructure associated with boilers.
Performs preventative and scheduled maintenance on equipment including boiler feed water pumps, fuel oil pumps, air compressors, generators, and other boiler systems.
Oversees internal and external boiler inspections. These inspections are required for each boiler two times (one internal, one external) per year.
The incumbent will watch the system during operation and attend to any additional problems. Record service data in daily logs and submit them to the supervisor.
Ability to maintain and navigate the BAS (Building Automation System) to maintain hot water boilers across campus.
Take immediate action to prevent interruptions to plant operations and report all emergencies or dangerous conditions. They are responsible for performing work in accordance with all local, state, and Federal pollution control requirements.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm

Physical Requirements: The work requires moderate to strenuous effort and long periods of walking, standing, climbing, bending, and crouching.
Workers frequently lift and carry boiler parts and chemical supplies weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally items weighing over 40 pounds with the assistance of other workers or weight handling equipment.
