About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Duties

Recommend environmental program changes to aide in environmental compliance procedures. Monitor equipment for accuracy, calibration, and proper functionality. Analyze laboratory reports to determine the presence of hazardous environmental conditions. Obtain samples for laboratory analysis. Review plans, specifications, and cost estimates to support the environmental program. Request permits to ensure environmental compliance.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
  • This position is subject to Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel up to 10%.
  • Position may be converted to permanent without further competition.
  • Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years.
  • Temporary reassignment may be made or extended at management discretion.
  • Temporary appointment may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Reviewing statistical data to correct data such as cost issues, labor hours, or services charges; 2) Assisting with preparation of outlines for basic production schedules; and 3) Utilize programs such as Microsoft Excel to reconcile data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Cost Estimation and AnalysisProblem SolvingProduction and Processing Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
