This position will provide support to the Chief, and Administrative Officer of the Social Work Service coordinating the day to day functions for the Chief. Accordingly this professional will be greeting, scheduling, organizing, and executing interactive meetings of the Social Work Service, staff, patients, public, industry, academic and community leaders.
Duties
Greeting, scheduling, organizing, and executing interactive meetings with external/internal stakeholders.
Composing letters, memo's and reports, keeping time in VATAS.
Answering phones, and greeting visitors to the Office of the Chief and Staff.
Coordinating the credentialing and privileging process with the Credentialing Office for all appropriate staff in the service.
Attends staff and committee meetings and takes minutes as directed.
Coordinating leadership meetings and takes minutes as directed.
Coordinating the day to day administrative functions for the Social Work Service Chief.
Ordering supplies and distributing mail to appropriate areas.
Ensure all staff are issued necessary Government Furnished Equipment and maintaining a log.
Serves as a co-principle liaison, with service administrator, to affiliated universities and multiple educational institutions for Maters of Social Work students.
Communicates frequently with prospective new employees in the recruitment process and setting interviews.
Coordinates new appointments for students and ensures appropriate student positions receive payment.
Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/22/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Transcribing dictation involving medical terminology.
Preparing statistical or informational data;
Reading interpreting and replying to incoming correspondence, action documents and recurring reports;
Scheduling appointments and making travel arrangements;
Providing guidance to clerical support staff in the maintenance and disposition of records;
Attending meetings and taking minutes;
Greeting, scheduling, organizing and executing interactive meetings of staff, patients, public, industry, academic and community leaders.

Physical Requirements: Ability to work under pressure and adapt to constant interruptions; Flexibility to changes and duties is necessary; Work requires walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items such as books and papers.
