About the position: This position will be assigned to the Arts and Crafts Center, F. E. Warren AFB, WY.
The position offered is Regular Part Time with a guarantee of 20 hours, with the ability to work up to 40 hours a week. Regular Part Time employees are eligible for leave and benefits; Health, Life, 401K and Retirement.
The starting pay for this position is set by Federal government pay setting regulations at $22.27 per hour.
Duties
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Operates and maintains a woodworking shop for patron use
Maintains stock of wood, wood products, and other woodworking shop supplies to complete a variety of woodworking projects
Prepares requests for supplies and equipment required for shop operation
Develops curriculum for skills development woodworking classes
Demonstrates proper techniques and methods used in building, refinishing and repairing wood projects
Assists patrons in completing layouts and provides general guidelines
Demonstrates and follows safety practices in operating machines and using tools and equipment, protective ear and eye devices, respirators and machine guards to protect against injury.
Physical Effort: Works in tiring positions for prolonged periods. Work requires frequent standing, bending, stooping, crouching and arm movement. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 45 pounds. May occasionally lift heavier items with assistance. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts and serious injuries.

- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have knowledge of the properties and characteristics of a wide variety of woods, gluing and bonding agents and other woodworking materials
Must have experience which demonstrates knowledge of wood crafting methods and techniques to make and repair a variety of wooden items with unique and intricate shapes and designs
Must have knowledge of set up, operations and maintenance of precision wood crafting machines and woodworking hand and power tools
Ability to compute and ensure consistency of dimensions on interlocking parts
Ability to instruct and assist wood shop patrons
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
