The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Chief, Education and Training in administering the education and training programs, provide technical guidance and assistance to managers and supervisors within unit organizations on all aspects of the program. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position.
Duties
Assists the Chief, Education and Training in implementation and administration of Air Force policies for the AF Voluntary Education Programs, ensuring Unit Training Managers (UTM) and additional duty training managers are trained and qualified.
May serve in the capacity of the Chief, Education and Training in their absence. Administers diversified Air Force testing program. Serves as primary or alternate test control officer.
Assists Chief, Education and Training with requesting and processing Formal School request.
Responsible for overall management OJT program for the wing. Accomplish Self Inspection and Staff Assisted Visits in accordance with current directive.
Monitors the overall accuracy and reliability of all data entered into and maintained in Military Personnel Data System (MilPDS) and Education and Training Systems.
Plans, directs, organizes, and coordinates operations of the Advance Distributed Learning, and multimedia education and training programs.

- Position may or will require incumbent to Fly in military and/or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty (TDY) assignments
- Required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties: however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities
- Position requires a background security investigation to determine suitability for employment and for a secret security clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

- The incumbent may be required to work overtime to meet workload demands. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty.
- May be required to fly in commercial and military aircraft to perform temporary/permanent duty assignments.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, 1702 Education and Training Technician
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience which may have been gained while assisting in administering an education and training program and providing guidance and assistance to managers and supervisors on all aspects of a variety of voluntary education programs; administering diversified testing programs; managing the on the job training program for the organization.
OR
EDUCATION: Two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or master's or equivalent graduate degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge (comprehensive) of personnel policies, organization mission, training methods and programs, and various Testing Programs, advanced learning, and non-traditional education support testing.
Knowledge of automated systems, personal computers, and software.
Ability to analyze data/products to determine adequacy of training programs.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals, both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy.
