The Primary Purpose of the Position is: To exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate Housekeeping Aids in accomplishing the environmental mission of the Environmental Management Service. The Organizational Location of the Position is: Environmental Sanitation Section, Environmental management Service, VA North Texas Health Care System. The incumbent is under the immediate supervision of the Assistant Hospital Housekeeping Officer.

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to: Performs work planning responsibilities Plan the utilization of workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a daily and/or project basis. Adhere to work priorities, project schedules, resources, and detailed work plans established by higher level supervisors. Follows customary work cycles and sequences in planning work assignments. Performs work direction responsibilities Directs a workforce that consists of Housekeeping Aid Leaders and Housekeeping Aid positions Assigns work to individuals and provides technical direction and/or helps in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes. Observes work in progress to anticipate and resolve problems, reassigns personnel within group supervised; and coordinates work among workers and other supervisors to maintain work progress and meet schedules Perform administration responsibilities Participates with employees in the development of performance plans and makes recommendations to supervisors. Recommends appropriate recognition or corrective action(s), as needed, in performance management. Recommends training based on needs assessment and mission requirements.
