About the Position: This position is located within the U.S. Army Materiel Command, DCS G-3, Strategies, Concepts, and Capabilities Integration Directorate. Serves as a Strategic Planning Officer focused on the future operations portion of the planning process. Responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of management policies, programs and operations, organizations, missions and functions.
Duties
Strategic Planning Officer focused on developing and implementing Army and Command strategies and policies to enable capability development, acquisition, and life-cycle sustainment.
As a senior analyst, responsible for advising AMC leadership on the impact of current and future changes, including reduced resources and changing missions.
Provides responsive, interdisciplinary, analytical capability involving broad, undefined complex issues of either one time or recurring nature.
Manages the conduct of broad, encompassing analytical efforts upon which program policy, procedural and system determinations will be predicated.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance for the duration of the appointment.
- May be required to travel up to 15% of them time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Developing all parts of strategic plans. (2) Conducting analysis of all strategic guidance, policies and plans at the Command and higher-level components. (3) Advising leadership on the impact of environmental changes and recommended courses of action. (4) Conducting organizational evaluation and process improvement analysis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
