This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Financial Management Experts to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serves as a Military Pay Technician for the Army Office of the Surgeon General in the Human Resources Directorate. Responsible for processing special pay entitlements for Army Medical Department health service professionals.
Duties
Perform basic mathematics and to use calculator is needed to assist in budget preparation, and for calculation of entitlements and debts to the government.
Perform data collection, record keeping, and computation of special pay for officers in multiple Medical Service Corps on active duty, Active Reserve, and National Guard Components.
Apply current and past laws/policies necessary for all aspects of specialty pay program management from the establishment of eligibility.
Possess broad knowledge of medical corps special pay to make decisions, analyze documentation and determine special pay entitlements.
Apply Department of Defense and Department of Army Military Pay Regulations, U.S. Army Medical Command policy, plans, procedures, special pay laws.
Use the JSS data processing system to include understanding of both input and output data.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is a Financial Management Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
