You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT (OA) in the Navy Installations of NAS PENSACOLA SEC DET.
Duties
You will access a personal identification system to issue vehicle passes and identification badges.
You will compose security documentation for supervisor's signature which may include inventories, correspondence, reports, charts, messages, technical papers, or briefing presentations.
You will input data into information systems to initiate, update, and retrieve criminal history and sex offender information on an organization's personnel and guests.
You will process requests for the issuance of vehicle decals, temporary passes, contractor or vendor passes, or visitor passes.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties:
1) Ordering office supplies; 2) Composing correspondence and reports using word processing software; 3) Utilizing correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization to complete documents; and 4) Receiving visitors and/or screening phone calls to determine the nature of requests to direct callers to the appropriate person or office.
