About the Position: This is an Department of Army Civilian Supervisory position with the 81st Readiness Division, Equipment Concentration Site 17, Maintenance Branch located in Fort Johnson, LA.
Duties
Maintain liaison with higher headquarters on maintenance plans, support concerns, facilities, technical problems, budgeting and special projects.
Interpret, coordinate, integrate and disseminate guidance and directives throughout the ECS and supported activities.
Represent the command at seminars, pre-camp conferences, and at meetings on or off the site pertaining to the ECS support operation.
Use managerial authority to direct or redirect the mission execution, long range planning, organizational structure, goals and objectives.
Make determinations on equipment, systems, and compatibility and analyze operations to identify areas needing improvement.
Develop plans, policies, programs, and procedures to achieve maximum efficiency and economy of operations.
Direct, coordinate, and oversee work through subordinate supervisors or leaders.
Plan and assign work to be accomplished and set and adjust priorities.
Advise, counsel, or instruct subordinates on both work and administrative matters, hear and resolve serious employee complaints and group grievances.
Interview and select candidates for subordinate supervisory and non-supervisory positions.
Approve leave, develop performance standards and evaluate work performance of subordinate managers/supervisors.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: managing storage, maintenance, supply and quality assurance; demonstrating the ability to make determinations regarding equipment use, compatibility and condition; utilizing knowledge of shop operations to develop plans, policies, programs, and procedures; and exercising supervision over daily activities of a full time staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
