Duties
You will serve as an Administrative Specialist for the Design and Construction Office supporting the Office's Budget, Acquisitions, Human Resources, Travel, NIST Associates Information System (NAIS) process, and other administrative activities.
If selected, you will:
- Generate reports in the Commerce Business Systems
- Gather and track labor and other expenditures
- Prepare procurement requests using an automated purchase system and create and maintain spreadsheets for each contract/task order
- Track personnel actions
- Prepare and reviews travel actions
- Process NAIS actions
- Serve as a bankcard holder
- Maintain administrative databases and other record/file systems
- Assist with other administrative activities, such as space set up, procurement of property, and timekeeping
You will be expected to perform duties independently, with minimal guidance, and have the ability to effectively analyze and resolve problems. We are looking for someone proficient in the use of MS Excel spreadsheets using sorting methods and formulas and the use of office automation tools, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Access.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level (ZA-I at NIST) in the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience with administrative functions for an organization, in preparing documentation for budget and financial planning, human resources, acquisitions, travel, and procurement.
OR
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
