The Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) is assigned to the Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC). The SARC's primary purpose is to provide overall management of sexual assault awareness, prevention, training, and victim advocacy. The incumbent serves as the designated program manager of sexual assault victim support services, oversees local implementation and execution of the SAPR Program, and ensures compressive victim services are provided through a coordinated community response.

Duties

This position is that of installation Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) and is the designated program manager of sexual assault victim support services. Oversees local implementation and execution of the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Program, and ensures comprehensive victim services are provided through a coordinated community response. Manages all aspects of sexual assault awareness, prevention, training and victim advocacy. Serves as the co-chair of Sexual Assault Case Management Group (SACMG). The SARC coordinates on-base resources, such as chaplains and medical treatment facilities, to meet victim needs. Prepares for visits from inspecting authorities and criminal investigation authorities. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must pass all applicable records and background check.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • Participation in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Fun Transfer within 30 days of employment is required.
  • Must be willing to conduct business in a shipboard environment as well as a shore-based office. Climbing up and down ladders another semi-strenuous activity, normally found in a shipboard environment may be routinely encountered.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal history background check with no adverse information or feedback received. Childcare National Agency Check and Inquiry (CNACI) background check is required.
  • Must comply with DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D-SAACP) policy guidelines and complete all training requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a current state driver's license.

Qualifications

Minimum of a bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, criminal justice or related social or behavioral science field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of three years specific experience working with victims of sexual assault or working in victim advocacy and victim advocacy services Experience with the Navy SAPR program preferred Must have the ability and skill to provide effective trainings and briefings; have the knowledge and skill in developing program management plans and adhering to them Ability to maintain accurate statistical framework for program data collection and reports Must have the ability to understand, be sensitive to, and have empathy for victims; must have the ability to develop trusting helping relationships and to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse racial, ethnic, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds. Must have the analytical ability to intervene in crisis situations, using sound professional judgment, ethical practice and common sense Must have the ability to work cooperatively with military and civilian medical, social service, law enforcement and legal personnel on behalf of victims Must be skilled in written and verbal communication; knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and use of office software applications and equipment Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background Investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.

Education

Minimum of a bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, criminal justice or related social or behavioral science field. Master's degree preferred.
