About the position: This position will be assigned to the Youth Center. This position is considered Flexible (Part-Time) guaranteed 00-40 hours and you can be on call. May work up to 0/hrs. week up to 40 hrs./wk. dependent on position and mission needs. This position will help with labore jobs at the Child Development Center.

Duties

1. Operates and performs operator maintenance on Youth Center vehicle passenger shuttle vans/bus with a gross weight of maximum 14,500. Operates vehicle through all kinds of traffic in local commuting area to include the Ft Worth/Dallas metroplex area. Exercises caution in preventing excess passenger loads, vehicle damage in transit and maintaining safety and comfort of passengers. Determines shortest and safest routes for recreational trips. Observes safety rules, regulations, and posted traffic controls and highway guide signs. Washes vehicles and maintains them according to requirements. 2. At the destination, may assist caregivers distributing tickets to events and entry into recreational areas. While loading and unloading assists in keeps account of children in care. 3. Operates common hand tools and power wash equipment in a safe and working manner. Ensures playing areas for youth are free of debris and are properly maintained. Repairs play areas, reports serious repairs to the supervisor for notification to 7 CES, takes out trash, cleans facility and maintained assigned area in a safe manner. Operates a push mower and weed eater in designated areas. 4. Performs other related duties as assigned. Skill and Knowledge: Must be skilled in all facets of maneuvering and driving vehicles. Must know the sizes and weights of vehicles and be able to judge overhead and size clearances, turning radius, and braking distances, Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License in accordance with state regulations if transporting 16 or more passengers, including the driver, off the installation. Some degree of manual skill and prior work experience is required to work safely with heavy hand tools or to operate, control, and clean heavy power equipment. Continual care and attention must be exercised to prevent accidents because of the nature of the duties and the kind of equipment used. 2. Physical Effort: Work that does not require the skills and knowledge in operating heavy equipment continually involves extreme physical effort, such as, constantly lifting or carrying objects weighing 80 to 100 pounds or more. Moderate physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs. Lifting and securing safety chains, towbars, and hooks. 3. Working Conditions: Work is mostly outside and in all kinds of weather. Exposed to dirt, fumes, and the possibility of cuts and bruises. Indoors in areas that may be dusty, drafty, and noisy. Special care is required to avoid serious injuries. Operates vehicles in all types of traffic and weather on public roads. Exposed to danger of serious accidents. Qualifying Experience: Must have skill in maneuvering and driving vehicles weighing more than 10,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds. Must have knowledge of sizes and weights of vehicles. Must be able to obtain a Commercial driver's License (CDL) if transporting 16 or more passengers, including the driver. Must be able to frequently handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Must be able to exert moderate physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Experience which demonstrated the ability to operate, control and clean heavy powered equipment. Must be able to use common hand tools and mowers and equipment to mark recreation fields. Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions. Work that requires the skills and knowledge in operating heavy equipment. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Background. "This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use." Must provide a copy of current driving record. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Education
