About the Position: Champions the District's Visual Information Program, ensuring all offices within the District adhere to USACE's strict branding requirements.
This position allows for situational telework only.
Duties
Gather electronic news and/or video production and shapes into a multi-media product.
Prepare and/or disseminate products including, but not limited to, news releases, articles, speeches, briefings, photographs with captions and interviews.
Utilize graphic design and/or desktop publishing software to take project concepts to completed and/or refined products.
Set up news conferences.
Review, edit, approve, or modify completed work for contract writers.
Develop new informational materials, such as news releases, fact sheets, brochures, booklets, and broadcast spots, to increase communication with various target audiences.
Analyze media problem areas and advise appropriate personnel to accomplish program objectives.
Monitor District activities and remains aware of work items which are of interest to the media.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications GS-12:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) performing and/or utilizing graphic design techniques to transform rough ideas into products 2) writing informational materials such as news releases, fact sheets, brochures, and/or speeches; 3) preparing and conducting audio-visual presentations; 4) developing and/or maintaining communications with print and/or broadcast media representatives; 5) planning and evaluating a visual information program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
