You will serve as a SUPV, LEGAL ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST in the MILITARY PERSONNEL SERVICES BRANCH of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

Duties

You will determine dependency of parents, parents-in-law, adopted parents, stepparents, loco-parentis, court ordered wards, full-time students, and incapacitated children of issuance of the Uniformed Services Identification/Privilege Cards. You will determine eligibility for travel of parents, stepchildren, adopted children, and illegitimate children of active-duty, Reserve and Retired Marines worldwide. You will provide technical guidance and advice to personnel. You will supervise the distribution and maintenance of all nonsupport claims. You will investigate and research routine and complex financial assistance inquiries and complaints. You will develop and maintain annual review files for dependency continuation.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing adjudication of financial claims which involves military dependent basic allowances, application for arrears of pay, waiver of requirement for support, eligibility for travel, foreign marriage and divorce process, etc .using automation system (i.e. DEERS) Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

OR Education: You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M, if related.

OR Combination: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the specialized experience requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the education requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours), may be used to combine education and experience.
