This National Guard position is for a WELDER - Title 32, Position Description Number D1215000 and is part of the WI CSMS, Camp Williams, Wisconsin National Guard. ***A recruitment incentive of 10% of base salary may be authorized for this advertisement (i.e. step 1 $55,869 x 10% = $5,586.90) (Note: This incentive is only applicable to employees entering the Federal Technician program. Current Federal Technicians are not authorized this incentive).

Duties

As a WELDER - Title 32, WG-3703-10, you will perform a variety of welding in support of maintenance activities. Performs welding duties using electric, acetylene, and/or inert gas shielded welding processes, pre-heating, brazing, head welding, tack welding, flame cutting, pressure welding, and heat treating.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the basic knowledge of welding processes. Must have knowledge of technical orders, blueprints and specifications. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the WG-3703-10 position, you must have at least 18 months of experience or training demonstrating the application of a variety of electric resistance welding processes and equipment. Experience in using accepted trade methods and a variety of manual welding processes to weld all types of commonly used metals in various shapes, sizes and thicknesses. Experience using a wider range of metal welding processes to make more difficult welds meeting close tolerance, strength and other requirements. These welds may be in hard to reach places. Experience which allows the welder to devise special jigs and fixtures to hold the parts to be welded. Experience which demonstrates knowledge of several related trade procedures. Experience which enables the lay out and planning of work from blueprints, sketches, drawings,specifications and work orders.
