In this position you will serve as Secretary (OA) to the Office of the Chief, Engineering Service at the Miami VA Healthcare System (MVAHA).

Duties

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Major Duties: Coordinate administration of the Office of the Chief. Keep the Chief and Assistant Chief Engineer's calendar, schedule appointment and conferences. Prepare agenda and make attendance list. Make travel arrangements. Receive visitors and telephone calls for the Chief and Assistant Chief, Engineering, and their staff. Respond to requests for information concerning service functions. Reviews documents for signature. Maintains file and directive library. Maintains the Time and Attendance records. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday - 7:00AM - 3:30PM Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not authorized Financial Disclosure Report: Not Required

Qualifications

There is a Typing Proficiency Requirement PLUS EXPERIENCE: Possess at least one year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the position? To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in Federal service. Specialized experience includes performing administrative duties in an office environment; Keep service executive's calendar, schedules appointments and conferences, prepare the agenda, making an attendance list, and acts as a recorder at such conferences and meetings answering questions and providing information both verbally and in writing; prepares minutes of the sessions; make necessary arrangements for travel by making reservations providing, and provide courteous and efficient customer service. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Administration and ManagementClient OrientationCustomer Service IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary and performed in an air-conditioned office shared by 4 other employees, adjacent to the Office of the Chief Engineer and Assistant Chief Engineer. There is occasional requirements for carrying of light items such as papers, books, and files, and there is frequent bending, stooping, and standing when engaged in filing or making changes to directives.
