About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District headquarters in the modern 2 Hopkins Plaza building in downtown Baltimore, Maryland and located near prestigious universities, and various cultural attractions. Our mission is to deliver public and military engineering services to strengthen our Nation's security, energize the economy, and reduce risks from disasters.
Duties
Serves as the principal administrative liaison between the human resources office and the chief/deputy chief/branch/section managers.
Utilizes office automation to develop a variety of administrative correspondence to include letters, memos, personnel actions, performance appraisals, etc. Develop, monitor, and update computer replacement plan for the Division/Office.
Interacts with various internal and external customers and staff.
Prepares clear and convincing written presentations.
Requirements

- The duties of this position require travel up to approximately 5% of the time.
- This position requires the skill of a qualified typist.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Performing general administrative duties such as preparing memos, letters, and responding to inquiries; 2) Preparing or reviewing human resources actions such as position description development or request for personnel actions; and 3) Use of automated systems to perform administrative duties such as tracking expenditures, preparing reports or timekeeping. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
