THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a Supply Management Specialist, Position Description Number D0883P01 and is part of the Georgia Joint Force HQ's Director of Logistics Support Office, Marietta, Georgia. .
This is a full-time, Excepted Temporary INDEFINITE, dual status position which requires Army National Guard Membership.
Area of Consideration: Open to current members of the Georgia Army National Guard.
Duties
As a Supply Management Specialist, GS-2003-11, you will:
Formulate and implement the comprehensive logistics support plans, policies and logistics operations support, based on logistics data and requirements obtained from the Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) staff, units, USPFO, NGB and other organizations.
Develop, coordinate and implement policies, procedures and requirements for unit deployment, inter-service support agreements as approved by the USPFO, emergency support for civil authorities, training exercises support and environmental compliance. Ensure coordination between units, JFHQ staff, USPFO, NGB and other agencies on command logistics support requirements. Initiate equipment redistribution guidance. Responsible for operation of the logistics operations center to support JFHQ Emergency Operations Center for Federal and State missions.
Obtain data from the Unit Status Report and the Material Readiness Report to determine and improve logistics readiness. Consolidate all logistics readiness indicators to formulate an assessment of the command logistics readiness of the state. Develop the Equipment on Hand policy that direct the supply and services officer and (DOL) DCSLOG/G4 to initiate equipment redistribution actions within the command.
Develop, staff and implement logistics plans for material fielding, mission support and mobilization. Receive input from the Surface Maintenance Manager (SMM) regarding the Mission Support Plans to support the material fielding plan. Develop command requirements for new equipment training. Analyze, direct and provide command logistics guidance to support CTA/TDA/MTOE changes and turn-in of command excess equipment to the USPFO.
Serve as the Information Systems/Automation Security Officer, Physical Security Officer and Safety Officer for the directorate, providing technical oversight throughout the shops and activities of the program.
Update Internal Management Control (IMC) Plan projecting 5 years into future for all DCSLOG/G4 branches or activities. Prepare the annual DCSLOG/G4 management controls statement of assurance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Candidate must possess experience, education, or training which has provided a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field; experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Candidate must possess at least 36 months experience, education, or training supervising and/or managing supply personnel and a variety of supply functions; knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system; experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues; experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions.
Education
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: High school graduate or the equivalent may be substituted for three months of specialized experience. Education in schools above the high school level may be substituted for experience on the basis of one academic year of study (i.e., 36 weeks or substantially full-time study or 30 semester hours or the equivalent.) for 12 months of the required experience. For experience required in excess of 24 months, education in schools above the high schools level may be substituted at the rate of one academic year of education for six months of experience. School above high schools level means an educational institution (e.g., a business or commercial school or college, a secretarial school, a junior college or a college or university). for which high school graduation or the equivalent is a prerequisite and in which an applicant successfully completed study which was not primarily limited to courses in word processing and keyboarding or both. Substantially full-time study in the case of business and commercial schools is the equivalent of at least 20 classroom hours of instruction per week. One academic year consists of approximately 36 weeks of substantially full-time study or 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours.
