The primary purpose of this position is to perform work involved in the identification, examination, classification,
acceptance, and disposition of munitions materials, complete equipment items, technical components, parts, and
commodities. In conjunction with the primary purpose, the employee performs materials handling. The
position requires the use of forklift trucks.
Duties
-Receives, examines, verifies, and identifies a wide variety of munitions materials, complete equipment items, technical components, parts, and commodities.
-Inspects stored/on-hand property for proper identification and usability conditions,
-Receives, examines, and determines condition of items, components, and equipment to .be turned in/removed. Establishes and maintains the final identification anµ classification of items turned in and assigns proper action codes.
-Performs a broad· range of materials handling assignments/activities, such as receiving, storing, selecting, and shipping munitions general or specialized bulk and bin materials and equipment.
-Operates electric, LPG, or diesel powered fork lift trucks capable of lifting loads weighing less than 10,000 pounds as high as 168 inches. Uses and maintains tools and equipment. Utilizes safety and security practices and 'procedures following established rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area.

- Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. Incumbent of this position is subject to the possibility of a random drug test.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-6900, Warehousing and Stock Handling Group, a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
The screen out element for this position is the ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision.
JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a limited range of parts and equipment, such as machine tools, office machines such as IBM compatible PC and CAS computers.
2. Knowledge of munitions inspections and accountability programs.
3. Knowledge of hand tools to separate munitions equipment components prior to testing.
4. Knowledge of safety and security practices and procedures.
5. Knowledge of supply documentation, code numbers and coding practices, printouts, material conditions, and stock numbering systems.
6. Knowledge of accepted munitions warehousing functions, material handling techniques, and inventory procedures (e,g. material receiving, storage, issuing, and preservation) and preparation of inventory and production reports. Knowledge of warehouse configurations, storage requirements for munitions, and storage documentation requirements. Skill in using hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, and other hand tools to unpack or disassemble equipment. Skill in operating one or more electric, diesel, gasoline, or LPG fork lift trucks with a capacity of less than 10,000 pounds and a lift reach of up to 168 inches to move, stack, unstack, load, and unload materials in and about warehouses, storage areas, loading docks, and vehicles. Ability to identify and sort a limited number of basic metals such as copper, steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and bronze. Ability to interpret and apply instructions, specifications, technical manuals, operating manuals, drawings, and blueprints.
Physical Effort
The work requires moderate to heavy lifting when moving material by hand or hand-truck; walking and standing for
prolonged periods of time; and bending, stooping, and pushing and pulling heavy material along conveyor lines. The
materials handling work may require working on hard surfaces and lifting and carrying weights up to 40 pounds. May
handle heavier items with weight lifting equipment or with assistance from other workers. Moderate physical effort is
required in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls while
driving, raising, lowering, and tilting fork lift trucks.
Working Conditions
Work is perforned inside in a warehouse environment and outside in containment areas on a year-round basis. Subject to
cuts, bruises, abrasions, and scrapes in moving or handling materials and equipment and to hazards involved in working in
proximity to moving equipment such as forklifts, trucks, cranes, and conveyor Jines. For materials handling duties,
employee may be subject to hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted areas or exposed to dust, dirt, grease, solvents, and
high noise areas. May be required to wear protective clothing such as hard hats, steel-toed shoes, rubber gloves, masks, and
rubber aprons. When handling hazardous materials, protective equipment is provided.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
