About the Position: This position is located at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, with the Directorate of Product Assurance (DPA), Quality Control Division.
Duties
Inspect a variety of electronic multisystem complexes for repairs or modification.
Analyze repair items for performance factors and quality standards.
Conduct final inspections on “completed” work prior to testing equipment.
Identify trends of inconsistence found in inspections.
Inspect equipment malfunction not operating within acceptable limits.
Conduct research for various types of technical information to be used in the development of inspection plans.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to pass a physical examination prior to employment and annually thereafter.
- Occasional traveling may be required 10% to attend workshops, training, or seminars .
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain Inspector certification for Soldering Operations in accordance with IPC J-STD standards.
- Must be willing to accept a temporary appointment.
- Must be willing to accept an obligated position.

Position may be filled as a temporary promotion NTE 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition.
Position may be filled as a temporary appointment NTE 1 year if candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to Inspect and do the work of an Electronic Integrated Systems Inspector without more than normal supervision. Have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) performing inspections on multisystem complexes for repairable items; 2) identifying man-hours required to meet mission; and 3) assisting shop personnel in troubleshooting electronic equipment and systems. I can operate electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, oscillators, and special test fixtures. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are property performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Efforts: Standing, stooping, stretching, lifting and bending are involved in carrying out work. Frequently lists materials up to 10 pounds and occasionally over 40 pounds.
Working Conditions: Works inside a heated and lighted maintenance facility and occasionally outside; subject to inclement weather. Incumbent is subjectto the possibility of burns, cuts, electrical shock, exposure to radiation, bruises, and strains.
