About the Position: Serves as central point of contact for all activities involving receiving, handling, storing, shipping and maintaining an inventory of hazardous materials, waste and recyclables. Performs a variety of material handling, preservation processing and packaging duties on various ordnance equipment including large, powered mechanical systems, towed and self-propelled combat vehicles, artillery and large tool set items such as compressors, welders, steam cleaners, generators, etc.

Duties

Initiate various work orders (WO’s) for newly procured and non-procured items. Verify, validate and inventory all serialized/non-serialized incoming items. Maintain custodial and electronic control of all materials until relocated. Utilize automated computer system in order to differentiate between designated storerooms and correctly conduct electronic issues for shipment. Re-verify all materials pulled from stock prior to initiating electronic transactions affecting the inventory balances. Conduct location verifications, spot, special and building inventories. Determine stock levels needed for recurring and non-recurring items based on usage inventory, project demands, seasonal demands, changing customer needs and projected depletions.

• This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
• This position has physical requirements that require the individual to be able to pass a physical examination.
• This position is covered by the civilian mandatory drug testing program.
• This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.

Moderate physical effort is used in operating hand and foot controls while driving, turning, starting, and stopping the forklift truck and raising, lowering, and tilting the loads being moved. WORKING CONDITIONS - Works inside and outside in cold, damp, drafty, and hot areas. Subject to injury for falling objects, collisions, shifting loads, and overturning. Hearing protective devices and/or other protective devises and/or safety equipment must be worn during all periods of time incumbent is exposed to the hazardous condition(s).
