This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER - Title 32, Position Description Number D1867000 and is part of the WI 115 OSS, Wisconsin Air National Guard.

Duties

As a AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER - Title 32, WG-4818-10, you will provide diagnostic, analytical, calibration, investigative research, troubleshooting, in-depth inspections, quality control inspections, certification, testing, evaluation, and maintenance or overhaul of all Aircrew Flight Equipment and aircrew chemical defense equipment. Provides formal academic classroom and technical instruction to all pilots/aircrew on all initial and continuation instruction to ensure aircrew survival ability under peacetime or combat operations. Responds and participates as an Air Force aircraft mishap board representative in investigating flight support equipment failures/malfunctions associated with mishaps. ***Indefinite positions are not permanent and have no guarantee to continued employment. Indefinite employees may be subject to separation from employment at any time with a 30 day written notification. If the position becomes permanent, employee may be converted to a permanent appointment without further competition at management's discretion.***

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the applicants knowledge of materials and equipment used in the line of work (helmets, torso harness assemblies, parachutes, survival equipment). Ability to understand written instructions and to use reference materials and manuals. ***Trainees will be accepted*** SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the WG-4818-10 level, you must have at least 18 months of experience or training which has demonstrated knowledge of aviation life support equipment. Experience reading and interpreting military manuals. Experience in supply procedures and property accountability. Experience collecting information and presenting it to various sized groups. Experience in planning a functional shop maintenance program is essential.
