You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) in the Manpower Division of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.
Duties
You will ensure all designated pay reports and trackers are generated and audited.
You will lead and develop subordinates to become proficient with the procedures and processes of the pay section.
You will effectively distribute and assign priorities of work, closely monitoring progress to achieve desired results.
You will ensure that proper documentation is obtained to substantiate all claims for allowances, monitor and control the administration of paydays, and establish controls for the issuance and the safeguarding of all hard pay checks.
You will serve as the authoritative source in the interpretation of rules and regulations with regard to pay related matters within the IPAC.
You will troubleshoot difficult problems such as tracing hard to find errors, reconciling statements, etc.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: reviewing, analyzing, evaluating, auditing, and processing military pay and allowances (e.g. hazardous duty pay, proficiency pay, special pay for mobilized reservist, temporary lodging allowances, etc) to resolve complex procedural and substantive issues with regard to pay related matters using the Marine Corps Total Force System.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing and processing administrative and procedural personnel military pay and allowances using automation system.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify for the position based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
GS 09:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
