Duties
You will construct and fashion all types and/or sizes of molds to be cast with molten metal.
You will assemble patterns in molds, using packing materials such as sand, investment powder or glass beads.
You will develop date locations so that proper casting of the parts takes place without imperfections.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the WG-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1. Plans and performs work involved in annealing, hardening, drawing, stress relieving, normalizing, quenching, deep freezing and/or aging various metals or metal alloys.
2. Performs required hardness test to assure that processed metals meet technical hardness standards.
3. Prepares furnaces and ladles prior to pours.
4. Mixes a variety of alloying constituents to develop types of metals such as bronze, brass and aluminum alloys.
